Marrakech - Visiting German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle visited, on Monday, the scene of the terrorist attack that targeted Argana café, killing 17 people and injuring over twenty others from different nationalities The German Foreign Minister laid a wreath in front of the Argana café as a sign of solidarity and compassion with the victims of this terrorist act.
In a statement to MAP, Westerwelle expressed his country's solidarity with Morocco in this painful circumstance, hailing thousands of people who gathered last Sunday in the square of Jamaa Lfna to condemn terrorism and violence.
"Marrakech is a historical cosmopolitan city which is open to the world. It is a crossroads of cultures and civilizations," he said.
During his stay in Morocco Westerwelle will hold talks with Moroccan officials and take part in the 13th "kronberg talks", due on Tuesday in Rabat.
Initiated by German Foundation Bertelsmann, “kronberg talks” will discuss the situation in the Arab world, notably in North Africa and its impact on the European Neighbourhood Policy.
