Rabat - The government will continue to make all efforts necessary to deliver justice, shore up and support Moroccans who had been unfairly expelled from Algeria and deprived of their possessions, irrespective of any human or legal consideration, State Secretary to the Foreign ministry Mohamed Ouzzine said on Wednesday

Speaking at the House of Representatives' question time, Ouzzine said the government strives to ensure a good collaboration between the parties concerned by this human rights issue, which has become a problem of international scope.

He said the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families (CMW) clearly denounced Algeria's stubborn stance on this issue and urged its resolution.

All initiatives aimed at settling this issue were doomed to failure because of Algeria's rigid stand, its refusal to cooperate and its hostile position vis-à-vis the legitimacy of the Kingdom's territorial integrity, he said, adding that Algiers flouts its legal and ethical duties as a party directly concerned by the impact of this artificial regional dispute.

The Moroccan authorities brought up this issue during the rare meetings with the Algerian party as part of attempts seeking to start a dialogue on the different unresolved consular, social and human problems, Ouzzine said.

He recalled that Morocco and Algeria agreed in 2003 to draw a list of the victims of arbitrary expulsion.
