Rabat - Morocco pursues its untiring action to uphold the just causes of the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state, with Al Quds as capital, Moroccan Prime Minister said on Monday

Abbas El Fassi, who presented the results of the government action at the end of its mid-term mandate before the House of Representatives, pointed out that the Moroccan diplomacy is carrying out its activities at two main levels.

The first is the political front through a coherent, well-defined plan aimed at drumming up necessary international support to counter the Israeli judaisation, isolation and annexation attempts and the blockade imposed on the Palestinian people.

The second, he went on, consists of field actions through direct support for the Palestinian people in the humanitarian, urbanistic, social and healthcare fields, as well as through the efficient contribution of Beit Mal Al Quds Agency in order to preserve the sacred Arab and Islamic identity of Al-Quds and prevent its judaisation.

El Fassi underlined that the Kingdom remains true to its stand in support of the peace process which requires sustained efforts on the basis of the Arab Peace Initiative as a realistic and responsible solution to put an end to the occupation of all Arab territories.

The Prime Minister highlighted the steady efforts made by Morocco's diplomacy to consolidate the Kingdom's relations with the Arab and Islamic states and modernise the mechanisms of the common Arab action to take up the economic, social and security challenges.

He insisted that Morocco has reaffirmed its commitment to continue actions to revitalise the Arab Maghreb Union on the basis of seriousness and credibility, reiterating the Kingdom's commitment to building a common future based on respect for states' territorial integrity and good neighbourliness rules.

In this regard, the Premier called on Algeria to open its borders to create together the conditions necessary to achieve development and progress in the Arab Maghreb region.
