Rabat - Special Olympics International will hold its global congress on June 6-10 in Marrakech, under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and the effective presidency of HRH Princess Lalla Amina, Chairwoman of Special Olympics Morocco and member of the Advisory Council of Special Olympics International (SOI)

    The congress, which will bring together over 600 delegates and athletes from 180 countries, will muster Special Olympics leaders to engage in a serious global dialogue, and conduct consultations about the future of Special Olympics movement, says a statement of Special Olympics Morocco.

    The meeting will be an opportunity to assess Special Olympics''s programs over the past decade and define its strategy for the period 2011-2015.

    The organization of Special Olympics global congress in Marrakech "crowns the noble actions of HM King Mohammed VI in favor of disabled people and the constant support of HRH Princess Lalla Amina in favor of the region''s athletes", says the statement.
