Rabat - The $6 million donation offered recently by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the city of Al Quds and its inhabitants is a clear message of rejection of the Israeli attempts to judaise the holy city, said Dr. Youssef Jomaa Salama, Imam of the Al-AqsaDr. Jomaa Salama commended, in statements carried by the Palestine Press Agency, the donation made through the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency, as well as the steadfast efforts made by His Majesty the King, Commander of the Faithful and Chairman of Al Quds Committe, for the Palestinian cause in general and the Al Aqsa Mosque in particular.
He said these efforts support the population of Al-Quds in their struggle against Israeli actions aimed at Judaising the holy city.
The former Palestinian Minister of Religious Affairs underlined that the royal solicitude for the holy city and its inhabitants clearly reflects the strong, long-standing spiritual feelings harboured by the Moroccans towards Al Quds and the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Dr. Jomaa Salama recalled the role played by the Al-Quds Committee and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency to support the inhabitants of Al Quds and the Palestinian institutions in the holy city in various fields, including healthcare, education, culture, housing and sport, along with revamping monuments, mosques and old buildings.
In this regard, he extended thanks to His Majesty the King, who had last year provided a generous donation of $5 million from His Majesty's own funds to reconstruct the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, destroyed during the Israeli invasion of Gaza.
These laudable initiatives highlight the political and diplomatic stances and efforts made by the Sovereign for the sake of the holy city through his permanent direct contacts with the heads of state around the world to defend Al-Quds against the Israeli judaisation attempts, he said.
